DIGITAL ANEMOMETER MAS-100 Regulus®

DIGITAL ANEMOMETER FOR THE CALIBRATION OF MAS-100 AIR SAMPLERS

MAS-100 air samplers are designed and manufactured to the most exacting standards. Ensuring compliant operation requires regular verification of the air flow of the instruments. This is because the air flow determines the collected volume via the sampling time. It also influences the impaction speed of the microbial particles from the air onto the agar surface and thus affects the collection efficiency of your microbial air sampler. Regular checking of the air flow is therefore indispensable for your measurement reliability.

With the digital anemometer MAS-100 Regulus, the airflow of most MAS-100 instruments can be verified, calibrated and adjusted fully automatically. Compensated for ambient temperature and pressure, the MAS-100 Regulus provides precise values for air volume flow and air mass flow (standard liters per minute, SLPM). We ourselves use the MAS-100 Regulus in our instrument production for initial calibration and in our service center for routine checks.  Certified service providers and customers who wish to calibrate their MAS-100 air samplers independently have the most important tool at hand with the MAS-100 Regulus to ensure a defined measurement reliability.

  • The MAS-100-Regulus digital anemometer calibrates the following microbial air samplers fully automatically and within the tightest tolerances: MAS-100 NT, MAS-100 NT Ex, MAS-100 VF, MAS-100 Iso NT, MAS-100 Iso MH
  • The digital anemometer will also be compatible with upcoming MAS-100 microbial air samplers
  • Accredited for airflow (L/min) in our own ISO 17025 calibration laboratory
  • MAS-100 Eco and the discontinued MAS-100 and MAS-100 Iso CU/AU/VU can be manually adjusted and calibrated
  • Acceleration sensor warns of damage due to hard impacts
  • Self-test function warns of defective ball bearing
  • Optionally, the MAS-100 Regulus can be accredited for standard liters per minute (SLPM)

IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE AIR FLOW

For a correct monitoring of air it is of central importance that the air flow of the microbial air sampler and the total collected amount of air are correctly displayed. The exact sampling volume defines the colony-forming units found per volume (CFU/m3). In addition, the air flow determines the impaction velocity of the particles on the agar surface and thus influences the collection efficiency of the microbial air sampler. The accreditation of the air flow of the MAS-100 Regulus in our ISO 17025 calibration laboratory ensures that the indicated air flow and thus the selected collection quantity of a microbial air sampler is reliably within specifications.

FULLY AUTOMATIC CALIBRATION AND ADJUSTMENT

MAS-100 microbial air samplers are known for their ease of use. The MAS-100 Regulus fits well into the product line with its user-friendly operation. The instruments are connected to each other and to a computer. Calibration is started in a web browser or the Configuration & Control (C&C) computer software. The rest happens automatically: the blower of the air sampler is set to defined air flow rates to obtain a calibration curve. The results are compared with the digital anemometer, automatically recorded and matched with the specifications of the air sampler. Finally, a calibration certificate is automatically generated, which contains all the important information: Serial numbers of the sampler and the digital anemometer, target air flow, allowed and effective deviations, temperature, pressure, and person performing the calibration.

CALIBRATION LABORATORY ACCREDITED ACCORDING TO ISO 17025

Each MAS-100 Regulus is calibrated in our service center, which is accredited by the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS) according to ISO 17025 and is delivered with calibration certificates. This allows full and direct traceability and documentation of the air flow measured by the air sampler and guarantees that your sampling is within specifications. The calibration laboratory is accredited for air volume flow (liter per minute, L/min) as well as air mass flow (standard liter per minute, SLPM). Standard accreditation for the MAS-100 Regulus is for L/min. For microbial air samplers with mass flow sensors, we recommend additional accreditation for SLPM. This includes all versions of the MAS-100 NT as well as all MAS-100 Iso instruments.

DISCONTINUATION DA-100 NT

MAS-100 REGULUS AS SUCCESSOR OF THE DIGITAL ANEMOMETER DA-100 NT

Perfection means never standing still and always improving your products. At MBV, we do just that.

As of March 2020, the MAS-100 Regulus digital anemometer  replaced the previous DA-100 NT as the global standard. Production for the DA-100 NT is discontinued, repairs and calibrations are still possible.
