CHANGES TO THE EXECUTIVE BOARD OF MBV AG
From 1 January 2024, Roger Heller will join the MBV AG Executive Board. As Chief Production Officer, he will assume responsibility for the entire production division of MBV AG's sister company Femron AG. Roland Durner is the new Chief Strategy Officer of MBV AG.

HIGHLIGHTS AT A GLANCE
2023 was a successful, exciting and sometimes challenging year for MBV. Once again, we were able to implement and launch a lot with and for our customers, partners and employees.
For example, a new industrial robot now lasers all types of perforated lids, and a unique marking of the lids supports our customers with quality management. Moreover, our customers could be relaxed about the entry into force of EU GMP Annex 1 and, for example, watch our new "Quick tip" videos on YouTube or book an online meeting with our experts directly via our website.

OPERATING HOLIDAYS
Our offices will be closed from Monday, December 25, 2023 until Tuesday, January 2, 2024. During this time, no service work will be carried out and no products will be shipped. We will be back in full swing on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

EXPANSION OF THE MBV AG MANAGEMENT TEAM
Micha Tiefenbach will be joining the MBV AG management team from 1 September 2023. As Chief Operating Officer, he will assume responsibility for the Back Office, Logistics, Customer Support, Quality and IT divisions.

EMBRACE EU GMP ANNEX 1 WITH CONFIDENCE WITH MAS-100 ISO VIABLE AIR SAMPLER
MBV customers can look forward to the effective date of the EU GMP Annex 1 on 25 August with complete peace of mind, as our MAS-100 Iso microbial air samplers are fully compliant with its requirements. Not only that but also when it comes to environmental monitoring and contamination control strategy (CCS), as requested in Chapter 9 “Environmental and process monitoring”: By combining MAS-100 Iso with settle plates for passive monitoring, all requirements are met here, too.

NEW MARKING MAKES MAS-100 PERFORATED LIDS FULLY TRACEABLE
Our MAS-100 standard perforated lids are now provided with a unique, non-removable marking - a machine-readable DataMatrix code, information on the lid type, and a unique serial number. This means that each lid can be unmistakably identified for quality management purposes and fully traced.
The recognized "Black Marking" laser process leaves the surface intact, ensuring sterility and easy cleaning. The dark, high-contrast marking is easily readable by man and machine, even after very many cleaning cycles.

CHANGE IN BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Hans Zingre is retiring at the age of 70 and will resign as Chairman of the Board of MBV AG in January 2023. Daniel Weltin was unanimously elected as his successor. With Weltin, an experienced manager could be won. We thank Hans Zingre for his enormous commitment and innovative spirit over the last four decades, wishing him all the best for the future and are very much looking forward to working with Daniel Weltin.

SLPM ACCREDITATION
Our ISO 17025 calibration lab has been accredited to calibrate the MAS-100 Regulus digital anemometer in standard liter per minute (SLPM). With the optional SLPM calibration of the MAS-100 Regulus, air flows can be directly compared in SLPM between the digital anemometer and all MAS-100 air samplers with mass flow sensors (all versions of the MAS-100 NT as well as all MAS-100 Iso instruments). For active microbial air monitoring, it is best to use standardized air flows independent of temperature and pressure.

MBV AG revolutionizes the collection of germs from compressed gases and launches the pioneering MAS-100 Atmos microbial sampler. As a novelty, the MAS-100 Atmos integrates unparalleled ease of use with comprehensive security while supporting 21 CFR Part 11 compliant workflows with a wide range of features. The MAS-100 Atmos collects microorganisms in compressed gases and replaces MBV's predecessor model, the MAS 100 CG Ex.

CEO RONNY ZINGRE IS GOING ON PATERNITY LEAVE
At the end of March, our CEO Ronny Zingre becomes a father for the first time. For this once-in-a-lifetime experience, he takes a 4-month sabbatical. During this exciting time, he wants to focus fully on his family, get to know his daughter in depth and support his wife in the best possible way.
In addition, it is important to him to set an example as MBV for modern employment conditions with a longer parental leave for fathers as well.

ISO 17025 CALIBRATION LAB SUCCESSFULLY RECERTIFIED
On September 1, our EN-ISO/IEC-17025 accredited calibration lab was successfully recertified by the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS) without any major findings. Lab Manager Christian Habegger: We are very pleased to be able to continue calibrating the MAS-100 Regulus® and DA-100 NT digital anemometers. This allows us to guarantee seamless traceability of the airflow of our customers’ air samplers to International Standards.”

OUR CEO’S EXPERT VIEW IN THE EPR
In the August 2021 issue of the European Pharmaceutical Review, CEO Ronny Zingre shares his opinion on the future of microbial air monitoring in aseptic fill/finish isolators. He explains that next steps in air sampling will be increased automation of the growth-based method. He expects that real-time methods such as LASER-induced fluorescence will complement the classical method but will not replace them soon.

NEW MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD AND ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW JOBS
Norbert Schorpp joins the Executive Board of MBV with immediate effect as Chief Operating Officer (COO). He is already over 10 years Managing Director of the sister and production company Femron. His mandate as Managing Director at Femron remains unchanged in addi-tion to his new function at MBV.

New digital anemometer MAS-100 Regulus
MAS-100 air samplers are engineered and manufactured to the most exacting standards. To ensure compliant operation, the air flow of the instruments must be verified regularly. With the digital anemometer MAS-100 Regulus, the MAS-100 air samplers can be calibrated and adjusted fully automatically, making this verification simple, precise and time-saving.

NEW: Air funnel for hygiene inspections
New in the accessories range: air funnels for hygiene inspections. Both displacement and TAV diffusers, which involve low air discharge velocities, and swirl diffusers, where the air is discharged with intensive mixing with the room air, require a solution to avoid the intake of external air.

New accessories for hygiene inspections
You carry out hygiene inspections according to VDI 6022 / SWKI VA104-01? Then you know how much material you have to transport from measuring point to measuring point. Our hygiene inspection case provides a remedy. During hygiene inspections of HVAC systems according to VDI 6022 / SWKI VA104-01, many and sometimes sensitive individual parts must be transported to the measuring points. Our robust transport case protects the material even in harsh environments.

HEPA FILTER FOR MAS-100 NT AIR SAMPLER
The new optional particle filter for the MAS-100 NT air sampler prevents the unwanted transfer of particle contamination when using the instrument in differently classified cleanrooms. Each MAS-100 NT can be retrofitted with an air outlet filter by themselves or a certified service center.
